Product information

Osprey's Mutant 22 Climbing Pack is reliable and intelligently-featured for your climbing and mountaineering adventures. Ideal for fast summer ascents through winter summit bagging, the Mutant 22 will never be off your back. Poached with impressive features for those all-year mountaineers and adrenaline-seeking climbers. The snow-shedding fabric back panel, side ski carry loops, and dual ToolLock system allows quick and secure ice axe attachment.

When carrying a harness, the hipbelt can be reverse wrapped or removed if preferred to ensure no interference. A reverse opening top zipper is the main access point to the inside and allows you to load your pack easily. The top compression strap under the lid can be threaded outwards to double as a rope stay. Hydration is taken care of with the internal sleeve to hold a water reservoir and there is a mesh pocket for securing your belongings, such as money and keys.

About the brand

A couple with Osprey backpacks walking up a rocky hill somewhere in the mountains.
Santa Cruz California 1974. Mike Pfotenhauer sat at his sewing machine with a head full of ideas and a burning passion to build the most innovative backpacks to the highest standard.

One man’s vision has grown into a wide range of Osprey rucksacks and accessories that are being used from the highest mountains to the most remote islands and everywhere between.

With innovation in every strand of each pack and an identity born out of true specialism, Osprey continues that true pioneering spirit today.
