Active packs stay close to the body and light on the back, built for trail running, fastpacking and any route where moving quickly matters more than carrying a heavy load. Most sit in the 10 to 25 litre range, enough for water, food and a compact layer without the bulk of a full hiking pack.

Bounce control sits at the centre of the design. Sternum straps, compression and a snug fit stop the pack shifting as you move, while front pockets and soft flask storage keep water and snacks reachable without breaking stride. Many active packs use a frameless or minimally structured build, trading some carrying comfort for weight saved.

These packs shine on fell runs, ultra races, fastpacking missions, and any mountain day where you're covering big distances quickly. Trail runners switching from standard rucksacks notice the difference immediately: less movement, better access, and gear that actually keeps up with how fast you're moving. Browse our range of active packs and find the right vest for your next fast mountain day.
