great for many eventualities
Reviewed By Ben, 01 Jan 2014

This rucksack is exceptional for cycling with the great lidlock system to hold your bike helmet. It also hugs to your back when cycling because of its strap around your chest and the belt around your waist.

This waist belt is perfect for walking because of the compartments around the waist. It is therefore easy to get at food quickly. The rest of the bag is full of useful compartments like the little one at the top of the bag and smaller flexible ones on the side of the bag. The back support system works amazingly well because it is firm and slightly flexible which and movement. The area to contain the bladder works very effectively due to the clip at the top of the chamber which stops the bladder dropping and bending the pipe. This stops the water from flowing.

The bag is rain proof but will not stand up to stormy weather or being put into water.

Brilliant backpack
Reviewed By Lynn, 25 Oct 2013

I use this backpack for short and long trips in the hills as well as biking. It's light, very comfortable and copes well with rain. Loads of space and really useful pockets on front of bag, straps and waist belt. Lidlock is perfect solution for helmets! Can't recommend enough!

Great Store, Great Equipment
Reviewed By Keith, 31 Aug 2013

I recently purchased an Aether 70 Rucksack from Cotswold for a 6 week trek across Northern Spain in June/July, and I found the rucksack to be an excellent main piece of equipment for the hike. I am next off to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in September and needed a smaller rucksack/daysack for this activity, so naturally I turned to Cotswold as I wanted another Osprey. On both visits to the store I was given lots of advice and assistance to choose the right model, by experienced and knowledgeable staff. I purchased an Osprey Talon 22 and yesterday I went for a training hike to test the rucksack, which I loaded with what I will be carrying on Kilimanjaro. I could not fault the sack during my training and I am confident it will not let me down during my 8 day climb up Kilimanjaro. Well done Cotswold!

Properly adjusted rucksack
Reviewed By catherine, 26 Jul 2013

The assistant at Cotswold was most helpful in fitting the rucksack, explaining the principles of a good fit. The pack takes everything a daypack should, with an easy top pocket to access torch, high viz vest, all emergency stuff. The hip pocket take credit cards, bus passes, purse and id. Ample room for a liter and a half of water. The ideal rucksack.

Loving this pack
Reviewed By , 15 Jun 2013

I adore this daypack. It's the most technical one I've ever had, and I use the hip pockets and helmet loop a lot - I can't imagine how I did without them. The pack is very light, but the back support is amazing, and you can still roll it up and put it in a larger bag or pack. The only thing I've had a bit of trouble adjusting to is that it pretty much only has one central pocket - the small one at the top you can't put too much in or it digs into your back. But overall a good pack.

Awesome all round rucksack!!

Cannot fault this rucksack, extremely lightweight but feels sturdy at the same time - i don't doubt that it will last a long time, even after being out and about all over the place. Great features and sizings work well. Could not be happier with this bag!

Best rucsac ever bought (owned a few)
Reviewed By Karen, 13 Nov 2012

Great features, especially the pockets round the waist belt.Handy when walking or sightseeing as it saves you having to take rucsack off everytime you want money or nibbles. Very good advice from Cotswold sales assistant too - helped me choose right size for my back/height.

Love this backpack
Reviewed By Victoria, 20 Mar 2012

Really great back pack! Took it up to the lakes a week ago and whilst every one complained about how heavy there pack was and how it was rubbing, the incredibly comfortable back on the osprey and the hip belt meant I couldn't feel a thing! I find wired packs really uncomfortable so this pack is really good for me and it fits a lot in there, seems bigger than a 22l in comparison to others. Slight problem is that if you put anything bulky in the top pocket it can prevent access to the main pouch as the pocket hangs down into this. It would be great if it came with a raincover but the one I purchased seperatley works great but if anyone considers doing this buy the smaller size as it just fits snugly around this osprey, raincovers come up big!

All in all 5 star bag

Great day pack!
Reviewed By Laura, 06 Jul 2011

I bought this bag for a sponsored long distance walk and found it so comfortable that I invested in the Talon 11 for my shorter walks too. The hip belt is fantastic and by adjusting all the straps etc you can place all the weight on your hips, rather than your shoulders, making it much easier on your back. It made all the difference on the walk.

The bag has a specially designed back to help prevent you sweating, but does not have the higher level of ventilation, where the bag is positioned further away from your back. I prefer this style as I feel much better balanced with the weight nearer my body.

The pack is also very lightweight and has loads of useful pockets to organise your gear. I use the smaller bag all the time for hill walking and the larger one for longer expeditions. I would completely recommend the Talon series.
