Already conquered the gym and all the hot climbing spots in your area? Ready to take your climbing to the extreme? There has never been a better time to get into rock climbing, more specifically Alpine Climbing. Alpine Climbing is a form of climbing where a climber's main goal is reach the top of a mountain or massive rock face usually in icy cold conditions.

Famous locations such as The Alps, home to The Eiger, Mont Blanc, and the Matterhorn in France, Yosemite Valley, home to the iconic El Capitan and Half Dome, and the Fitzroy Traverse in Patagonia are essential destinations for anyone looking to get into Alpine or Big Wall climbing. Often seen as the most extreme form of climbing and is usually done over multiple days with multiple pieces of rope with some climbers choosing to sleep on the face on special beds called portaledges hundreds of feet above the ground. Climbers will often need to use special equipment like ice axes and screws in order to climb up frozen waterfalls and glaciers.

Due to the dangers involves and limited availability of routes, careful planning of routes is taken and a deep knowledge of different techniques such as anchoring, abseilling, and mountain rescue are often required in order to successfully achieve your climbing goals. Even with the risks involved, the satisfaction and rush of standing on top of a mountain you have just conquered is something you will have to experience first hand in order to truly appreciate.
