YHA Festival of Walking
4th September – 20th October 2022
Our partners at the Youth Hostel Association (YHA) have been offering a haven to walkers since 1930 and to celebrate, they’re hosting their first ever Festival of Walking – to help even more people to discover the joy of the outdoors.
The festival aims to bring walkers of every stripe – individuals, friends, families and walking groups - as well as introduce new voices, feet and faces to walking in the UK’s diverse landscapes, together at hostels across England and Wales. Over the duration of 46 days, the YHA are aiming to get people to walk a collective total of 24,901 miles – that equates to once around the world!
Throughout the festival, we’re proud to be supporting the YHA by offering walkers a free cup of tea or Fairtrade filter coffee at selected hostels around the UK, to help encourage as many people as possible to get involved as well as provide a warm welcome and some well-earned refreshment for tired legs. Simply quote 'Cuppa on Cotswold Outdoor' to a member of staff at the participating hostel when you arrive.
As well as exploring some of the beautiful landscapes of England and Wales, you can also enter our prize draw for your chance to win a £500 voucher to spend with us at Cotswold Outdoor. Simply log your miles when you finish your walk and they’ll be added to the YHA’s overall totaliser; you’ll get an entry into the prize draw for every walk you submit. Entries close on 3rd November 2022.
Along with the support of partners at the BMC and Ordnance Survey, walkers can enjoy a series of social and self-guided walks, and also make the most of hostel facilities at YHA locations in National Parks and on National Trails. Plus, the YHA are offering 25% off selected accommodation during the festival.
