Plant & Protect With Passenger

Stories of escapism are woven into the fabric of Passenger. From the scent of campfire on your favourite fleece to the joy of a weekend hike spent in a timeless tee, Passenger kit is designed to wander. With a love for adventure comes a desire to preserve the places we love to roam – with this in mind, Passenger is working to protect our greatest playground through their Plant & Protect programme.

What is Plant & Protect?

True to their roots, for every garment sold in partnership with their retailers, Passenger plants a tree, now and always. It’s a direct and simple way to give back to the places that mean the most. As of 24th April 2024, Passenger has planted over 1 million trees and helped protect over 28 million sqm of rainforest.

Alongside their tree planting programme, they also fund projects that protect rainforests, wildlife and support indigenous communities across the globe.

Who does Passenger partner with?

Tree For The Future (TREES)

Working in Senegal, Mali, Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania, TREES assists communities to bring land back to life that has been depleted due to deforestation, unsustainable land use and harmful farming practices.

They do this through their unique Forest Garden approach. This way of farming protects the land for generations to come, as the soil is revitalised by planting a wide variety of trees, and their roots help prevent future soil erosion. The full life cycle of the farm is sustained through the added diversity from various trees, vegetables and plants grown in unison. This diversity means that the farm is more resilient and offers an abundance of nutrient-rich food to eat.

This initiative gives farmers and their families the tools and education to rebuild food systems, provide for themselves and their communities, and free themselves from generational poverty.

The Rainforest Trust

The Rainforest Trust relies on donations to safeguard rainforests and protect habitats. Passenger contributes monthly to the Rainforest Trust's Conservation Action Fund, which directly aids in preserving endangered species, safeguarding the traditional lifestyles of indigenous communities, and conserving the biodiversity of rainforests worldwide.
