Climbing Slings

Sort By:
A critical component of any complete rack, climbing slings provide the versatile link you need to build anchors, extend protection, and reduce rope drag. Mastering their use is fundamental to efficient and safe movement on rock, from local crags to alpine faces.

Our selection includes slings made from two primary materials to suit different objectives. Nylon climbing slings are the go-to for all-round use, offering excellent handling for tying knots and connecting to anchors. For missions where weight is a primary concern, ultralight climbing slings offer an incredible strength-to-weight ratio, making them a top choice for trad and alpine climbing slings.

Build your system with the lengths required for the route ahead. A 60cm sling is perfect for creating alpine quickdraws, while a 120cm length is standard for equalising anchors or slinging rock features. Having a set of reliable anchor building slings gives you the options you need to tackle any objective with confidence. Equip your rack with the right combination and climb with greater efficiency.

Climbing slings are versatile tools used for extending protection, reducing rope drag, building anchors, and tethering climbers to belay stations. They can also be wrapped around natural features like trees or rock horns for additional protection during trad or alpine climbing.

Common sling lengths include 60cm (shoulder-length) for extending protection or creating alpine quickdraws, 120cm for building anchors or wrapping around larger features, and 180cm for connecting multiple anchor points. The length you choose depends on the specific climbing scenario.

Climbing slings are typically made from nylon or Dyneema (UHMW polyethylene). Nylon is affordable, durable, and better at holding knots, while Dyneema is lightweight, resistant to UV damage, and ideal for alpine or multi-pitch climbs due to its high strength-to-weight ratio.

Choose nylon slings for general climbing as they are more affordable and handle dynamic forces better. Opt for Dyneema slings when weight savings or compactness is critical, such as in alpine climbing. However, Dyneema requires careful knot tying due to its slippery surface.

For trad or multi-pitch climbing, carry at least 4–6 slings of varying lengths (60cm and 120cm are most common). Adjust the number based on the route’s requirements and the amount of gear you need to extend or anchor.
