What an amazing piece of footwear.

Out of the box and away with total confidence.
Mile after mile of lounge to kitchen and repeated ascents of two flights of stairs to the first floor and back down whilst acclimatising with altitude issues.
Until I was caught that is wearing out the Axminster!
Then upon being forced outdoors I discovered the GTX to be an absolute dream. No discomfort during or after their initial outing. Gave good grip over slippery rocks ascending and descending over Kinder. Excellent waterproofing. Feet completely dry despite peat bogs and constant rain.
All the technical / practical stuff aside they look dam fine too. Can't speak highly enough of this boot.

Brilliant light but tough boots

I tried these after a very helpful shop assistant recommended them. The guys were great in making sure I had the right boot, nothing was too big an inconvenience for them. They're exactly what I was looking for; a stiffer boot with more grip for scrambling and possible winter use but still light and comfortable. Also I think the jean / plaster colour look great! I've never tried Garmont boots before but would definitely go for them again.

Great fitting boot with good lacing adjustment.

Went to local shop in Plymouth. Got a pair of old Meindl Borneo's fancied a lightweight pair of boots for scrambling around on rock etc, asked for some advice, fantastic service had feet measured and advised best sizing, etc. Looked at North Face, Salomon & liked the look of the Garmont. I have wider feet so North Face & Salomon came up a little narrow. Tried on the Garmonts, great fit, really adjustable with down to the toe lacing. Fitted like a glove, although you must try them on as sizings can vary a little. tried a 9 1/2 in the Vetta Hike great fit, however Tower Lite I needed a 10. Very light boots, comfortable from the start, quite a firm sole with not too much flex, no hotspots, already done 10 miles in them straight out the box, now got to see how waterproof they are. Mind you, that won't take long at the moment.
