If thorough weather protection and fantastic versatility aren't enough, add the sophisticated detailing and styling of the Wave Hill Parka.

Let us start with the shell jacket: The Texapore fabric has a beautifully soft feel and a natural, cotton-like appearance, yet boasts very impressive waterproof and breathable credentials. The longer cut gives a bit more weather protection as well as an extra swish of style! And the jacket’s plentiful pockets are complemented by two handwarmer pockets set discreetly in line with the seams.

The warmth of the Wave Hill Parks can be tailored to your needs: the faux-fur trim around the hood, which keeps the wind and cold at bay in winter, can be removed, as can the hood itself. The high-loft inner fleece makes this coat snug and cosy on the coldest days, and zips out to be worn as a jacket in its own right in milder conditions.

The inner jacket fabric has a smooth, jersey-weave outer surface (just like your favourite sweatshirt) and a luxuriously cuddly, warm reverse side consisting of a technical deep pile fleece. Its sporty, cropped length prevents bunching round the hips. Like the outer jacket, it combines excellent performance with classic good looks.

Good jacket but...
Reviewed By Rebecca, 12 Jan 2014

I bought this jacket to use whilst travelling to Eastern Europe for one month over the Christmas period.
The jacket is nicely constructed, with fantastic quality. The fabric feels great and is fully waterproof (I got caught in a torrential downpour but remained warm and toasty in the jacket). Its stylish and practical and I really like the fir hood, which is removable!
My gripes with this jacket are that it hasn’t got many of the useful features I have seen included on other Jack Wolfskin products.
A big issue I had was there are no zipped pockets. Thus meaning I can’t put anything in my pockets of value, or even anything I remotely don’t want to lose (like a train ticket or a few coins). There are no internal pockets, (a useful one is a breast pocket with access via a zip in the opening of the jacket) which was a real pain.
The two front pockets are basically useless for anything that isn’t a flat piece of paper, as they are sewn straight on without an expandable part of the pocket, so forget trying to put a glove in each one as it will make the pockets bulge out and push against you.
The hand warmer pockets are a nice addition and my most used but I just wish they had a zipper to close them.
The internal fleece is great, but the bottom of the fleece does not come down to meet the bottom of the jacket, and the hem is quite thick. Thus when wearing the two together and the coat being snug on my bum, I got a big line where the fleece ended and it became a little uncomfortable. Also when trying to put the coat on, the fleece always tries to come out of the sleeves so you have to re-arrange. Basically you can’t really put this coat on quickly if you are wearing a jumper.
I would have really loved this jacket if just a little more thought was put into the construction and basic necessities that usually come with the Jack Wolfskin products.
And finally after 3 weeks of wearing the bottom popper on the opening of the jacket came off.
I do really like this jacket, but it’s just not got the simple practical essentials that would make it great.

Fantastic performance great looking jacket

Hello my partner bought me this coat for my birthday. I wanted a new all purpose weatherproof coat for both walking my dogs, Hiking and general use. What I liked about this style was it looks good whatever activity you are doing, it doesn't look like you should be out on the hills when your in town shopping. A lovely warm removable fleece makes it great for all year round use. Great find, fantastic value for money, and I do love the Jack Wolfskin logo being an avid dog lover!

Love it

Beats Berghaus ANY DAY of the week! #JustSaying
Reviewed By Eleanor, 01 Nov 2013

Working for the DWP can be a 'demanding' role - and with the winter months creeping upon us, it was time to ditch my Berghaus AQ2 Calisto jacket (or whatever it is i've been sporting since last year!) and invest in a stylish coat! This jacket caught my eye - because I LOVE IT! It's a good quality jacket at a very impressive low price. So, I took the plunge and purchased this jacket in an XL, thinking it would be roomier than my Berghaus. The jacket arrived the Next Day (which is awesome customer service guys) and I fell in love at first sight.... Unfortunately though, the jacket fits me everywhere except around my tummy :-( ...... I am devastated - but that's not the coats fault! ..... The coat comes with a detachable fur trim, a small pocket to the upper 'right' (not sure if this is visible on the image?) - as if you went to check! lol! .... erm, what else is good about this jacket?... erm, the fabric is desirable (unlike my Berghaus which makes me sound like iRobot as I charge for my bus on a morning - due to the material on the arms rubbing, haha) .... This coat features a LOVELY fleece inner detachable base layer - which appears to be cotton feel on the outside (not that fury fleece cack like my Berghaus has!).... Oh yeah, and another thing I love about this coat is that it features 'press stud' fasteners to the wrist area (and not those stupid Velcro fasteners that rub off/ catch your clothing)... Also, the two front pockets are extremely deep, perfect for holding your phone, money, 'bus pass' and keys - I would of thought! ..... Hope you enjoyed my review - and as for saying I should go on a diet, well, "It's almost Xmas - I'm just storing fat to keep warm!" ;-) haha ... Seriously though, this product is a good coat at a fantastic price - and if it came in a larger size, I would send back for the bigger size :-)

Stylish and technical winter jacket
Reviewed By Cath, 31 Oct 2013

I need a warm coat that will look good walking the dog as well as walking to work. This coat fits the bill. Fantastic colour, great warmth, and gets comments when I wear it. Fabulous price in the sale too. I don't mind spending money on a product when I know it will last and still look good for years to come.

Great Looking Practical Jacket
Reviewed By Diane, 29 Oct 2013

I bought this jacket whilst it was on offer. As a 5ft 8inch tall female I was particularly impressed with the length as most jackets are normally too short on the body. Sleeve length was also great for me. Sizing perfect. Overall a great coat which looks good as not only a practical coat but as an every day winter coat.

Great looking waterproof jacket
Reviewed By hannah, 29 Oct 2013

I've recently purchased the jacket in truffle brown, though it was hard decide between the colours as they all look good and being neutral are versatile when matching with other items, the coffee brown fabric looked like a pale khaki green next to the truffle brown.

I got the jacket in small which is a great fit (i'm 5'3" & size 8-10). The inner fleece fits snuggly and I feel is a flattering design, I love the versatility of the 3 in one design.
I wanted a replacement waterproof that was both functional and stylish so I'm really pleased that I went ahead and purchased!

Versatile jacket, smart looking and functional!
Reviewed By Jen, 01 Oct 2013

First thing to mention is that I bought this jacket in both truffle and coffee brown as my local store didn't have the colour and size options I wanted to compare. The coffee brown one looks really dark on the picture so I was surprised when it arrived and thought I had been sent the wrong one but no. It's a similar tone to the truffle brown, just not as warm a brown. I happen to prefer the coffee brown myself and it toned in well with my favourite clothes so this is the one I kept but if you're expecting a dark coloured jacket, it isn't.
I have had my eye on this jacket for over a year but due to the cost I had ruled it out. However in the sale I couldn't let it go and have not been disappointed. I am a size 10-12 normally and the medium fits me perfectly. It is cosy and warm and I like the flexibility in the hood (both the fur line and the hood itself unzip independently changing the look of the jacket when required) and when the fleece is zipped out both it and the outer jacket are nice fitting and looking on their own. I like that it is suitable for our Scottish weather but still looks like a smart coat for occasions when this is wanted.
This jacket oozes quality, everything looks sturdily built and I hope that it will last me for many years to come and earn the money I paid which for me is still substantial despite the sale price! So far it feels well worth it!

A disappointment
Reviewed By Christine, 19 Sep 2013

Having read the existing reviews, I was so sure I would love this jacket but was very disappointed and returned it straightaway. On the advice of an earlier reviewer, I sized up: I wear an 8-10 and am just over 5 ft, but I bought the Medium size, yet although it was just about big enough round the torso, the shoulders and arms were very oversized on me. I really didn't like the fabric, which felt stiff and unpleasant. Certainly, the parka did not have the appearance of such an expensive item. All in all, I found this to be a very unflattering jacket.

simply brilliant !

I have never written a review before but I felt I had to. This is for all the small(5ft exactly) people like myself who want to look and feel good without feeling like they are being smothered by their coats. I am a size 14-16 and so I ordered the XL and it is a perfect fit, even on my weird shape. Thank you jack woolfskin, and thank you cotswoldoutdoors for your outstanding service. Again simply brilliant!!!!!

I don't often write reviews, but for this coat, I had to!
Perfect fit, excellent attention to detail- expensive I know, but it's a 3 season coat and if you catch a sale it makes it all the more worth it
I am a size 8/10 and the medium fits perfectly- I was a little worried that it would be too big!!
I also like the style, I didn't want a sporty ski jacket, again because of the price I wanted to be able to wear it for dog walking, school run, and to look nice while out. TICKS ALL THE BOXES

Great jacket
