A little mountain luxury

The Mountain Equipment Helium 3.8 self-inflating sleeping mat provides welcome comfort and insulation with a small packed size for year-round mountain use.

The foam core has bilateral holes that help insulate you from the ground while ensuring your comfort and minimizing the mat’s packed size. A non-slip abrasion-resistant base prevents the mat from moving around as you sleep and a large push-in valve allows for rapid inflation and deflation.

I bought this product as a recommendation from the sales person and I'm very happy that I did. The 3.8 is just that extra bit thicker of a mat so it's warmer and more comfortable to sleep on yet the weight isn't much more than the thinner version and as I've spent a week sleeping on it wild camping in Dartmoor national park I've put it through its test and it's a very well made tough, warm, comfortable and compact for trekking. Need I say more? ;)

Small and light
This item doors not self inflate unless you start it off by blowing it up. I thought that problem was because it was new but it still isn't great. The valve is also a bit stuff. I bought the ladies version which is okay but i found I was very uncomfy and wrote every few hours to move.
