Comfrotable Boot
Reviewed By pamela, 11 Feb 2015

After wearing the Merrelle walking shoe for the past 2 years I decided to go to a boot and chose the Salomon, what a good choice, comfortable & lightweight. They come slightly smaller than your avg shoe size.

Comfortable but wear a walking sock
Reviewed By Mrunalini, 18 Nov 2014

I bought these in Aug 2014 from the store.I am a size 5 but I purchased size 5.5 since the sales guy advised that the feet usually swell a bit. The first time I wore them on a 18 km trek, I hurt my toe while walking downhill as my foot slipped inside the shoe, as it was a bigger size, and hit the front end. This caused internal bleeding, and the dried blood under my nail is still there. I think this happened because I did not wear a walking sock. I still like them, the soles have a fantastic grip, they are waterproof, though have not tested them in rain, just small streams. I have now also purchased walking socks and the shoes are very comfortable on long walks.

Poor quality, didn't last
Reviewed By Catherine , 06 Jul 2014

Purchased these 8months ago and I am now having to look for new boots. The sides have split and they lost their waterproofing within a couple of months. They have only been worn for a couple of really decent walks(more than 10 miles) and I really expected them to last for a couple of years.

Very reliable comfortable boots
Reviewed By Nic, 30 Apr 2014

This is my third pair of salomon boots. I have plantar fasciitis so comfortable boots is a must. They are soft in the heel area with enough arch support that I do not need extra support.
I also have quite narrow feet and have found I can wear Salomons with very thick walking socks or very thin everyday socks. They are very adjustable.
I have used Salomon shoes or boots for dog walking everyday for the last 7 years and have found they tend to last me approx. 3-4 years with very hard use. Worth every penny, especially when in the sale!

Superb Shoes
Reviewed By Beth, 23 Apr 2014

These are exceedingly good shoes that are strong and support the foot whilst being very comfortable. On the other hand they are not waterproof but we overcame this by buying their waterproof-er and using it on the shoes. This worked perfectly and solved our problem.

The best thing about them so far is the weight. After a couple of hours they have given me mild blisters but I guess they'll soften up. I also started to get a little damp (it was very very wet) but the water may have been coming in from the top.

Super Boots
Reviewed By Lynne, 31 Oct 2013

The padding in the heel of my Brashers having eventually broken down, I needed a new pair of lighter boots. The assistant in the Solihull store took a great deal of trouble measuring my feet to make sure the size would be right and recommended a couple of makes that would best fit the width of my foot. I chose these Salomon as they were light and quite flexible and they were so comfortable right from the first wearing. I have been out in them in the wet and they were fine and have good non-slip soles. Would definitely recommend them.

So comfortable

What a difference a pair of boots can make. I have a couple of problems with my feet and need cushioned comfort which my previous boots weren't providing. These boots from Salomon enabled me to enjoy my two-week walking holiday more than I could have hoped. Special thanks to Kit at the Windsor store for his professional, patient and friendly help.

Walking 101

Ideal shoes to enjoy your walk: lightweight, waterproof (gore-tex fabric), thick sole, good hold to the ankle, ultra comfortable and lovely colours!

Once you've put them on, your feet will fall in love...

This is my first pair of boots like this and I could not be happier! As a walker beginner, I highly recommend them; I'm out every week-end on a different trail and I can't get enough!

Great boot.

This a a great lightweight boot, very comfortable The ankle and arch support are very good. I am 64 and had no problems with this boot, hardly any wearing in. Would thoroughly recommend this boot.

Great lightweight but sturdy all round boot
Reviewed By Jean, 15 May 2013

I was looking for a lighter weight boot for Spring / Summer and I was immediately drawn to these. I like the colour, which is classy and distinctive without being to gaudy or "girlie!" They were immediately comfortable and I couldn't believe how light they were. However, lightweight does not mean flimsy or unsupportive. I went out in them last night in heavy rain and walked for over an hour and a half and I was reassured that I felt entirely safe and did not slip at all even on water-logged grass. This is a great pair of boots and really good value for money.

If Carlsberg made walking boots ..............
Reviewed By Valerie, 23 Apr 2013

I walk about 600 miles a year split between 2 pairs of boots, a heavier winter pair and a lighter summer pair (although now there's not much difference in the weather between seasons). I generally only get about a year's wear out of a pair of boots, so I tend not to be too fussy about brands and concentrate instead on getting a good deal on price. Salomon's would generally be out of my price range but when I saw these with 40% off I decided to splash out.

I've had them for 2 weeks and have done around 35 miles and they are super comfortable, warm, great cushioning to protect knees and heels, very light, totally waterproof, and good grippy soles on hills and scrappy paths.

Much more comfortable than any other boot, but if you're considering buying these make sure you get the right fit. I found I had to go up 1 whole shoe size.

All in all a brilliant buy.

Good grip in muddy conditions
Reviewed By Elizabeth, 05 Apr 2013

Got my feet measured at the Guildford store. Measuring system confused me as I measured a 6.5 and am usually a 5. Sure enough the boots I took home in a 6.5 and tried around the house felt much too big. Took them back and changed them for a 5.5 and these feel great. Light feel, good grip and plenty of room for my toes. So different to any other boot I have tried.

Perfect boot!

Having been through just over a hundred pounds worth of cheap walking boots, I decided to bite the bullet and invest in a decent pair. I was torn between these and a paid of The North Face, but not being one to follow the trends, I thought I would try these Salomons out. I went to the Peterborough branch, where the sales assistant was extremely helpful, ensuring I had the right size and that it felt comfortable. She even advised me to wear them around the house for a couple of weeks just to make sure they were right, as i could take them back if I was unhappy. After a few days of wearing them around the house, I decided to take my dog for a walk, not long after the downpours! My feet were as dry as a bone after walking through muddy fields and puddles, something I was not used to!! They are extremely comfortable and i highly recommend them. Obviously, I dont expect them to be 100% waterproof, but they are certainly not far off. I do suggest you also purchase the waterproofing kit, as after a few months of wear, you will need to clean and restore the waterproofing.

These boots are replacing a much loved pair of six year old Salomon ortholite boots, which i thought would be impossible to replace, but as I tried them on I knew instantly that this was the pair for me. Light, plenty of support but just like slippers and kept them on till I went to bed. Jill Foster
